The Hive belongs to that lineage: its concentric shades of varying sizes step down like the tiers of a beehive, each ring catching the bulb's light and turning it downward, so the pendant glows as an object while placing its light precisely where it is needed. Like the rest of Panton's lighting, it is produced today by VERPAN, the Danish manufacturer dedicated to keeping his designs in authentic production.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe brushed-aluminium finish gives Hive a cool, architectural elegance that suits kitchens, workspaces and modern dining rooms. Because the light is pressed directly downward and the layered shades swallow glare, it is a natural choice over a dining table, kitchen island or desk — it can hang low without ever putting a bare bulb at eye level.
