For Fun he chose hand-cut discs of natural mother-of-pearl, suspended in overlapping tiers so that they shimmer, sway and softly chime as air moves through the room. The contrast in this brass edition is especially rich: the warm metal frame deepens the golden tones already present in the shell, giving the lamp a more honeyed, evening character than its chrome sibling.
