The Unikko Cotton Sateen Fabric comes as a full 10 metre roll of heavyweight sateen, printed in Helsinki with the poppy drawn by Maija and Kristina Isola in 1964. Unikko, a symbol of creativity, was born at a time when hardly any floral designs featured in Marimekko collections. Maija Isola was fascinated by flowers and went on to design a whole range of novel floral prints.
The cloth is 100% organic cotton with a smooth sateen face, made in Finland, and the pattern repeat measures 98 cm. It is offered in Plum / Cranberry / Off-White, Coral / White / Pastel Green and Pastel Green / White / Warm Pink. Follow the stated washing temperature, wash with like colours and allow for shrinkage of up to 4%.
A whole roll suits larger projects such as full-length curtains, upholstery panels or a set of matching cushions. Pair it with pieces from the Marimekko collection.
