Tanskalaisen arkkitehdin Anne Boysenin Moonsetter voitti Next Danish Design Classic -kilpailun vuonna 2020, ja sitä hiottiin yhdessä Louis Poulsenin kanssa vuoden 2021 julkaisuun asti, numeroituina 100 kappaleen sarjoina. Moonsetter: 2020's Next Danish Design Classic
Architect Anne Boysen won the Next Danish Design Classic competition on Danish television in 2020 with Moonsetter. She refined it with Louis Poulsen, and it was introduced in 2021. A circle, a square and a cylinder become one lamp, made in numbered editions of 100.

Two kinds of light
Turn the white side of the disc toward the light for a soft glow, or the chrome side to reflect it and mirror the room.
A room within the room
At 600 mm tall and 640 mm long, it reads as a sculpture as much as a lamp.
Each piece is numbered
Each lamp is engraved with its edition number and a sequential number from 1 to 100.
Dims without steps
A rotatable switch on the cylinder dims the light smoothly and fades it in and out.
Three simple shapes
Boysen merged three basic shapes into one configuration: a round disc, a square frame and a cylinder base. The competition judges praised its simple design and clean lines, and Louis Poulsen worked with her to refine it.
Moonlight on a mirror
The idea is moonlight reflected off a mirror. A chrome-plated disc, white on its other side, turns a full 360° in front of an opal silicone diffuser, changing the light as it moves.
Made to last
The frame is high-lustre chrome-plated solid cast aluminium, and the disc is solid cast aluminium, chrome on one side and white on the other. At 45.2 kg it stands steady on a floor, sideboard or low table.

Where does it work best?
On the floor, a sideboard or a low table where you can reach the disc and see both its sides.
How do I change the light?
Rotate the disc: the white side gives soft, diffuse light and the chrome side reflects it directly.
Can I dim it?
Yes. Turn the switch on the cylinder for stepless dimming; the light fades in and out when you switch it on or off.
Can the LED be replaced?
Yes, with a Louis Poulsen replacement kit fitted by an authorised electrician.
How do I clean it?
Use a soft, dry microfibre cloth on the chrome and the white side. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
