The Puolikas kukkaro purse is cut from cotton printed in Helsinki with the Mini Kurre pattern, and closes with a metallic frame that snaps open and shut. Extending Aino-Maija Metsola's tales from the forest, Kurre presents a lively brood of squirrels collecting and hiding nuts, a common sight in the designer's childhood yard. The original artwork was painted on paper with brush and ink.
It is made in Finland from 100% cotton with a cotton lining, and half of the cotton used is recycled, which gives the unbleached fabric a lively surface where small areas of differing colour may appear. It is available in Sky Blue / Multicolour. Wash it inside a thick washing bag with like colours.
Slip it into a larger bag to keep coins and small essentials together, alongside the other pieces in the Marimekko collection.
