The Marimekko Pieni Unikko Tea Towel is woven from a firm cotton and linen blend with a jacquard knit, so the small poppies sit in the weave rather than on top of it. The towel has a hanging loop, and Unikko itself was drawn in 1964 by Maija Isola, who wanted flowers in a collection that held almost none.
It is made of 60% organic cotton and 40% linen, measures 50 x 70 cm and comes in the Off-White / Beige colourway. Wash before use, wash with like colours and follow the washing temperature given, allowing for shrinkage of up to 6%. Made in Portugal.
Its quiet tones suit a pared-back kitchen, next to the aprons and pot holders in the Marimekko collection.
