Lichtbron: E27, 1 lamp, max. 40 W. IP20, binnen. Lichtbron niet inbegrepen.

Louis Poulsen
Lauritzen's 1940s crown, brought back in 2019
Vilhelm Lauritzen drew the VL Ring Crown in the 1940s for Radiohuset, the Danish Broadcasting House in Copenhagen, but it was never installed there. Louis Poulsen reintroduced it in 2019 in untreated brass and triple-layered, mouth-blown opal glass, as pendants, wall, table and floor lamps.

Glass that glows
Glossy, mouth-blown opal glass in three layers spreads a soft, even light.
Brass that ages
The satin-polished brass is untreated, so it darkens to a personal patina.
A family of formats
From a single-shade pendant to a seven-shade crown, plus wall, table and floor lamps.
A Danish design story
It links Lauritzen's Radiohuset with Finn Juhl's work for Bing & Grøndahl.

Drawn for Radiohuset
Lauritzen's studio designed Radiohuset (1936–41) down to its lamps, with Louis Poulsen. The Ring Crown came out of that work in the 1940s. It waited in the archives until its reintroduction in 2019.

The Bing & Grøndahl link
Finn Juhl, who worked for Lauritzen, used the Ring Crown in his interior for the Bing & Grøndahl flagship store on Amagertorv in Copenhagen. The project earned him the Eckersberg Medal in 1947.

Choosing a format
The three-, five- and seven-shade pendants suit dining tables and large rooms. The single pendant suits a hallway or a row over a counter. Wall, table and floor lamps carry the look through the home.
Materialen
Mouth-blown opal glass
Three layers, polished and glossy; wipe with a soft, damp cloth when cool.
Untreated brass
Satin-polished and left to patinate; dust with a dry cloth and skip polish to keep the aged look.
Fabric cord
White fabric cords on pendants; corded wall, table and floor versions come with a plug.

Thuis gebruiken
Which pendant suits a dining table?
The three- or five-shade crown suits most dining tables. The seven-shade crown suits large tables and open rooms.
Will the brass change colour?
Yes. It is untreated and slowly develops a patina that grows more personal over time.
Can I mix formats?
Yes. Pendants, wall, table and floor lamps share the same glass and brass, so they sit well together in one room.
Can I dim it?
Yes, with dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer.
How do I clean it?
Let it cool. Wipe the glass with a lightly damp cloth and dust the brass with a dry one.
