Poul Henningsen drew the first PH Piano Lamp in 1931 for people who read music: a curved, movable stem that carries the shade out over the keyboard, balanced by a globular counterweight at the back, with a head that tilts 45° backward and 25° forward so the light falls where the score sits. The Limited Edition 2026 keeps that mechanism and scales it to table-lamp size. The PH 1/1 shade is four-layered mouth-blown glass in dusty terracotta with a white inner side, closed by a frosted diffuser, so the colour reads warm from the outside while the light stays soft underneath.
Frame, arm and counterweight are brushed brass, aged and clear-lacquered with the fine hairlines left visible, and Poul Henningsen's initials are engraved on the switch housing. Because the glass is mouth-blown, each piece varies slightly from the next. At 417 mm across and 364 mm tall on a Ø153 base, with 2.6 m of dark brown textile cord and the switch on the lamp, it settles on a piano, a desk, a bedside table or a windowsill.
