Originally introduced in the 1950s, the Navy Pendant was designed in collaboration between the Navy Buildings Department and Louis Poulsen. Used extensively in Navy buildings for various applications like canteens and offices, it was valued for its unique lighting and utility. It was removed from Louis Poulsen's catalog in the early 1980s but was reintroduced as the Doo-Wop pendant in 2012, featuring new colors and a brass version. In 2017, new metal editions in copper and stainless steel were added. The hand-spun shades, with their fine rolled edges, give the pendant its signature optical volume, with the brass variant requiring a polished finish.
