The Marimekko Piirto Unikko Linen Fabric is an unbleached linen printed in Helsinki, and it is sold by the metre. Piirto Unikko is a stylised, airy variation on the Unikko poppy that Maija Isola created in 1964, redrawn in 2022 by Maija Isola / E.I. so that the graphic outlines of the flower carry the design and the surface stays close to minimalism.
Woven from 100% linen and made in Finland, the print has a pattern repeat of 98 cm and comes in Unbleached / White, where the poppy is printed in white pigment, and in Natural White / Green. Wash with plenty of water at the temperature given; shrinkage is up to 6%.
Cut it for curtains, cushion covers or a tablecloth, or stretch a length on a frame as a graphic panel, and pair it with printed pieces from the Marimekko collection.
