This linen fabric is printed in Helsinki with Unikko, the poppy that stands for creativity at Marimekko. The pattern was born in 1964, when hardly any floral designs featured in the collections and Maija Isola decided to create an entire range of novel flower prints instead.
The cloth is 100% linen with a pattern repeat of 98 cm, and it is sold by the metre, so you can order the exact length your project needs. It comes in Light Grey / Off-White and Beige / Grey / Light Blue. Wash with like colours at the stated temperature and allow for shrinkage of up to 6%.
Linen gives the print a matte, textured ground for curtains or loose covers, to combine with pieces from the Marimekko collection.
