The Marimekko Hennika Runner is printed in Helsinki with Hennika, an energetic yet quiet stripe built from large fields of colour. It was designed by Vuokko Eskolin-Nurmesniemi in 1958, the designer who changed how clothing was seen in the 1950s with her architectural, clean-lined garments. The edges are finished and sewn to the back.
The runner is made in Estonia from upholstery cotton in which 24% of the cotton is recycled, and measures 47 x 145 cm in Pink / Red / Burgundy. Each runner is cut across the full width of the fabric, so every piece is unique, and the cloth carries an Oeko-Tex certificate. Wash at the temperature given; shrinkage is up to 6%.
