This cotton fabric carries Hennika, an energetic yet quiet stripe formed of large blocks of colour and printed in Helsinki. It was designed in 1958 by Vuokko Eskolin-Nurmesniemi, who had already changed how clothing was understood with her architectural, clean-lined garments.
The cloth is 100% organic cotton with a pattern repeat of 177 cm, and it is sold by the metre so you can order exactly the length you need. Colourways are Pink / Elmwood / Petrol, Cool Blue / Elmwood / Petrol and Pink / Red / Burgundy. Wash at the stated temperature, iron on the reverse and allow for shrinkage of up to 4%.
The wide bands suit long curtains or a bold cushion, to set against pieces from the Marimekko collection.
