The small Christmas bell is part of Ann-Sofi Romme's 2026 collection for Holmegaard, inspired by the woven Christmas heart. The mouth-blown glass is finished with shimmering golden details, and each handmade bell has its own small variations.
Made of borosilicate glass, it measures 8 cm in height and 5.5 cm in diameter. Hang it on the Christmas tree, from a branch or in the window, and combine it with the heart, bauble, star and bird from the same year.

Each year Ann-Sofi Romme adds new mouth-blown ornaments to Holmegaard's Christmas tradition: a bell, a heart, a bauble, a bird and a star, released as that year's edition and hung from a red silk ribbon. The motifs draw on the winter landscape and the Christmas story.

How the tradition works
Every Christmas Ann-Sofi Romme chooses a new theme and redraws her familiar shapes around it. Because each edition belongs to one year, collectors can build a tree that tells its own story over time. Her bell in particular has become a collector's piece.
Themes of recent years
For Holmegaard's 200th anniversary in 2025 she drew on the swan, a symbol of the glassworks, with small hearts and red winter berries. The 2026 collection pays tribute to the woven Christmas heart, with shimmering golden details.
Hanging and display
Hang the ornaments on the tree, on a bare branch in a vase or in a window, where daylight shows the detail in the glass. Mix years and shapes for a personal collection. Store them in their box after Christmas.

Ann-Sofi Romme holds a degree in ceramic design from Kolding School of Design. She was a permanent designer at Royal Copenhagen, with her own workshop at the porcelain factory in Frederiksberg, and has also worked in metal and jewellery. She has designed Christmas ornaments for Holmegaard since 2005.
