The PH 3/3 Pendant Centenary Edition marks 100 years of System PH, the three-shade principle Poul Henningsen worked out in 1926 and then applied to hundreds of lamps. The proportions are the familiar 3:2:1 with a top shade of about 30 cm, which makes this a whole size PH, drawn to stay glare-free when it hangs higher in a room. The upper shade is four-layered mouth-blown amber glass with a white inner side; the middle and lower shades are three-layered mouth-blown white opal glass, glossy outside and sandblasted matt inside, with a frosted diffuser below.
The amber glass sends a warm ambient light upward into the room while the opal shades keep the downward light soft and free of glare. Canopy, suspension and shade fittings are aged, lacquered brushed brass, with decorative thumbscrews that let you adjust the position of the light source inside the lamp. It measures 285 x 307 x 285 mm, weighs 5.5 kg and hangs on 4 m of dark brown textile cord.
Light source: E27 socket, 1 bulb, max 13 W LED, IP20 indoor, not dimmable. Bulb not included.
