The Above Pendant by Danish designer Mads Odgård reduces the pendant lamp to a single, confident geometric gesture — true to his motto that an object should be no more complicated than its purpose demands. The graphic conical shade, spun in matt black or white aluminium, casts comfortable downward light from a concealed source, while the arch-shaped opening at the top (the “Above”) reveals the cord and releases a soft, decorative upward glow — Louis Poulsen's glare-free philosophy in contemporary form.
Hung low over a dining table or kitchen island it delivers focused task light without dominating the room; a row of two or three suits a longer counter.
