Poul Henningsen's three-shade system, designed in 1925-1926, was created in collaboration with Louis Poulsen and was first displayed at a Paris exhibition. PH's goal was to create glare-free, well-distributed light with soft shadows, using incandescent bulbs. The PH 2/1 Stem Fitting is part of this system, which includes over 30 different models, including outdoor versions. The system has been produced in various sizes, colors, and materials, including metal and glass shades. PH's design, based on the logarithmic spiral, ensures even light distribution, reducing glare and shadows. The PH 2/1 Stem Fitting, introduced in 2003, uses a 20 cm top shade and smaller lower shades, offering a compact design for lower ceilings.
