Wire Table Lamp

Few designers loom larger in the playful wing of Danish design than Verner Panton. While many of his contemporaries kept refining the wood-and-craft tradition, Panton chased new materials and bold geometry, and one of his recurring fascinations was the transparent structure: frames of metal rod that describe a form while leaving it open, so an object seems drawn in the air rather than built. The Wire family belongs to that lineage. VERPAN, the Danish lighting brand devoted to keeping Panton's designs in faithful production, makes the Wire Table Lamp with the same logic as its taller sibling — an open skeleton of chrome-plated steel flaring upward to a crisp white hemisphere, with a small metal reflector inside that turns the bulb's output into soft, indirect ambient light. Switched off, it reads as a miniature sculpture; switched on, it becomes a quiet pool of calm on the tabletop.

The table-sized Wire is made for surfaces where space is precious. On a desk it adds character without visually eating into the work area, because your eye travels straight through the frame.
