LP Grand Surface Mounted

Designed by Christian Flindt in 2016, the LP Grand delivers scalable, high-quality light for large spaces in keeping with Louis Poulsen's "Design to Shape Light" philosophy. Its curved, open rings combine direct and reflected light for a glare-free, warm ambience — "the sun on a day, where it glows through misty air," as Flindt put it. The 2022 LP Grand 320 (320 mm) adds a warmer 2700 K tone and phase dimming, ideal for homes, hotels, offices and libraries.

Christian Flindt, born in Denmark in 1972 and trained as an architect at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, has worked with Louis Poulsen since 2008 — his Flindt Wall and Flindt Bollard have become fixtures of Nordic public space. With LP Grand he addressed a different brief: architectural lighting for large interiors that still feels warm and human. The surface-mounted version brings the family's signature layered rings directly onto the ceiling, where the curved profiles bounce part of the LED output back off the ceiling plane, mixing direct and indirect light so the fixture never reads as a harsh point source.

Surface mounting makes this the LP Grand for rooms where a suspended pendant would hang too low — corridors, entrances, landings and apartments with standard ceiling heights. In compact urban homes it delivers serious, even light without stealing headroom, and a row of them can rhythmically light a long hallway.
