Fun Floor Lamp

Many regard the Fun collection as one of Verner Panton's greatest masterpieces in lighting design. Since 1964, the collection has sparked joy and countless stories.

The FUN 1STM Brass is a floor lamp featuring a three-ring brass-finish frame.

When Verner Panton (1926–1998) created the Fun series in 1964, he was already Denmark's most radical designer — a former assistant to Arne Jacobsen who had abandoned conventional cabinetmaking culture for experiments in colour, form and atmosphere. For Fun he chose hand-cut discs of natural mother-of-pearl, suspended in overlapping tiers so that they shimmer, sway and softly chime as air moves through the room. The contrast in this brass edition is especially rich: the warm metal frame deepens the golden tones already present in the shell, giving the lamp a more honeyed, evening character than its chrome sibling.
