The PH Hat, designed in 1961, belongs to Poul Henningsen's late period, when four decades of work with Louis Poulsen had distilled his ideas into ever simpler forms. A single brim-like shade in white lacquered steel — named for its profile — tilts from 0° to about 67° and emits entirely indirect, glare-free light, while the rose-painted interior, a signature Henningsen device, warms the reflected glow to flatter skin tones.
Created with bedrooms in mind, it solves a familiar problem in smaller rooms: mounted at seated eye level on each side of the bed, it frees the nightstands entirely and gives symmetrical, glare-free reading light. Its discreet profile also suits hallways, entrances and staircases. Explore the Louis Poulsen collection or more wall lamps.
