Wire Floor Lamp

The Wire Floor Lamp has a chrome-plated steel frame that flares at the top to hold a white hemispherical shade, with a small metal reflector directing light upward for soft ambient illumination. Its airy, sculptural design adds a bold yet unobtrusive presence to any room.

The Wire series comes from the world of Verner Panton, the Danish designer who spent his career pulling Scandinavian design away from quiet restraint and toward colour, geometry and experiment. Alongside the moulded chairs and immersive interiors that made him famous, Panton was fascinated by open metal structures — grids and wire frames that define a volume without filling it, letting light and air pass straight through. VERPAN, the Danish lighting house devoted to producing Panton's designs faithfully, builds the Wire Floor Lamp in exactly that spirit: a chrome-plated steel skeleton that sketches the lamp into the air like a line drawing, crowned by a white hemispherical shade. Inside, a small metal reflector throws the light of the bulb upward, so the shade fills with a soft, indirect glow instead of a hard point of brightness. The result is a floor lamp that behaves like ambient architecture — sculptural when switched off, atmospheric when switched on.

Because the frame is mostly air, the Wire Floor Lamp brings height and presence to a room without adding visual bulk — a real gift in smaller living spaces, where a solid column or heavy shade can quickly dominate.
