The PH 2/2 Luna was conceived in the late 1930s — the golden decade of Poul Henningsen's three-shade system — for the most intimate task of all: light beside the bed. A 20 cm top shade sits over matching lower shades in three-layered, mouth-blown opal glass, glossy outside and sandblasted inside, while the elegantly curved, lacquered aged-brass stem tilts the light toward the reader, keeping the bulb hidden whether you are sitting up with a book or drifting off beside it.
Nearly ninety years on it still fits its brief: true reading light without glare for a partner beside you, or a warm evening landmark on a windowsill or low bookshelf, pairing naturally with wood and rattan.
