The ferm LIVING Dou Floor Lamp celebrates the contrast between geometric shapes and the organic, textural qualities of rattan. Hand braided by hand in oversized proportions, its shade lets small glimpses of light escape through the weave, adding texture and tactility to a living space.
The shade and body are braided rattan over an inner iron structure, and the lamp measures 71 cm in diameter and 131 cm in height in Dark Brown. It comes with a 2.6 metre sand fabric cord with a foot switch and is approved for EU, NO, CH and UK use only. As this is a hand braided item, small variations in colour and shape may occur. Wipe with a damp cloth.
Set it beside a lounge chair for a soft pool of light, next to other natural materials from the ferm LIVING collection.
Light source: E27 fitting, max 12 watt LED bulb, not included.

Dou: hand-braided rattan lamps with geometric outlines
The Dou series is hand-braided from natural rattan and plays geometric shapes against the organic texture of the material. It includes pendant shades, a wall shade, a table lamp and a floor lamp, and each lets small glimpses of light through the braid.

Light through the braid
Small glimpses of light escape through the woven rattan.
Geometry meets texture
Clean shapes are softened by the hand-braided surface.
Every room covered
Pendant, wall, table and floor versions share one look.
Natural or dark brown
Natural rattan, with the floor lamp and a table lamp in dark brown.

Braided by hand
Every Dou piece is hand-braided from natural rattan around an inner iron structure. Because it is handmade, small variations in colour and shape occur, and they are part of what gives each lamp its warmth.

Shapes for each spot
The Ø45 cm shade is deeper and the Ø68 cm shade wider and flatter, both giving bright overhead light. The wall shade, 17 x 30 cm, sends light out at the top and bottom while the braid glows softly.

Lamps for table and floor
The Dou Table Lamp is Ø30 x 40 cm with an E14 socket and a 2.6 metre cord with switch. The floor lamp has oversized dimensions, Ø71 cm and 131 cm tall, with an E27 socket and a sand fabric cord.
Materials
Natural rattan
Hand-braided and inspected under phytosanitary procedures; wipe with a damp cloth.
Iron structure
Holds the geometric shape inside the braid.
Fabric cord
On the table and floor lamps; shades take a separate cord set.
Designer and brand
ferm LIVING design studio
ferm LIVING was founded in Copenhagen in 2006 by graphic designer Trine Andersen, who began by designing her own wallpaper when she could not find what she wanted for her home. Dou was developed by the brand's in-house design studio in Copenhagen to celebrate the contrast between geometry and the organic qualities of rattan.
Using it at home
Which cord set do the shades need?
The pendant shades fit the Fabric Cord Set for pendants and the wall shade fits the Fabric Cord Set for wall lamps. Both are sold separately.
Which bulb should I use?
An LED bulb, max 12 W: E14 for the table lamp and E27 for the floor lamp and cord sets.
Why does my shade hang a little unevenly?
It is hand-braided, and small variations in shape can make it hang slightly uneven.
How do I clean it?
Wipe the rattan with a damp cloth.
Can the shades be combined?
Yes. Mix pendant, wall, table and floor pieces to repeat the same braid across a room.
