The ferm LIVING Lod Pendant references the Danish word for 'weight', its striking graphic silhouette balanced by a counterweight that lets the height be adjusted along the shade's perpendicular rod.
Made from wet-painted iron with a white diffuser, it is available in Cashmere or Blackened Iron and measures 50 cm in diameter and 35 cm tall, with a matching ceiling bracket, canopy and 5 metre fabric cord. Its reflective surfaces bathe the room in a soft, luminous glow.

Lod: a pendant named after the Danish word for weight
Lod takes its name from the Danish word for 'weight'. A counterweight and a perpendicular rod let you raise or lower the shade, and its graphic silhouette and reflective surfaces give a gentle, luminous glow. A matching ceiling bracket and canopy complete it.

A lamp that balances
Lod borrows the old principle of the counterweight. The shade hangs from a perpendicular rod, and shifting the weight or the rod moves the light up or down. The mechanism is in plain view and becomes part of the design.
Light that bounces
Inside the 50 cm shade, three G9 LED bulbs sit behind a white diffuser. The reflective surfaces of the shade spread the light into a soft radiance, so it calms a room rather than spotlighting it.
Finished in iron
Lod is made of iron, wet-painted in black or powder-coated in cashmere. A matching ceiling bracket and canopy and a textile cable in the same colour keep the graphic line clean from ceiling to shade.

ferm LIVING was founded in Copenhagen in 2006 by graphic designer Trine Andersen, who began by designing her own wallpaper when she could not find what she wanted for her home. Lod was developed by the in-house design studio in Copenhagen and is a registered ferm LIVING design.
