The Flindt Wall Lamp translates the carved ellipse of Christian Flindt's 2017 bollard — an instant signature of Louis Poulsen's outdoor range — onto the wall. Perfecting it took years of software modelling, 3D printing and metal casting: a perfect die-cast aluminium circle that appears to float off the wall, its glowing recess casting an asymmetrical, glare-free wash of light downward and a subtle ring of reflected light across its own face. Sculpture when off, crescent of light when on.
Few wall lamps move between contexts this confidently: outdoors it flanks entrances, gates and terraces; indoors it brings architectural character to stairwells and hallways, freeing floor space entirely. Flindt: a carved ellipse of light, indoors and out
Christian Flindt's lamps for Louis Poulsen start from one gesture: a shape carved out of a solid form, with light running down its face. The Flindt Wall turns the bollard's cut into a circle that seems to float. The Flindt Garden Bollard of 2021 is a smaller post.

Glare-free and downward
Light comes from inside the cut, so you see a soft glow, not the LED.

The wall lamp is rated IP65, so the same piece works in a hallway or on a facade.

Light down a carved face
Light leaves the top of the recess and runs down the front, making a soft ring where the concave and convex surfaces meet. The result is asymmetric, glare-free light on the floor or the ground below.
Software, print and cast
Flindt balanced the proportions, curves and light of the three wall sizes with software modelling, 3D printing and metal casting. The wall lamp sits slightly off its surface, so it appears to float.
Scaled for the garden
The Garden Bollard of 2021 keeps the cut on a slim 50 mm post, 345 or 695 mm tall. A gradient surface reflects and softens the light, so it falls as an organic pool on the lawn or path.

Born 1972
Flindt is a Danish architect and designer. He graduated from the Aarhus School of Architecture in 2002 with degrees in architecture and design, and founded his own design company in 2003. His work for Louis Poulsen treats light and form as one sculptural gesture.

Yes. It is rated IP65 for indoor and outdoor use.
Who should install it?
The wall lamp and the anchor or base plate bollards need a certified electrician. The spike bollard is plug-and-play.
How many bollards can one adapter run?
Up to six 24 V Garden Bollards, with up to 30 m of cable to the last one.
Which wall size should I choose?
Ø200 for entrances and corridors, Ø300 or Ø400 for larger facades and stairwells.
How do I clean it?
Switch it off and wipe it with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners on the textured finish.
