LC Shutters Pendant

LC Shutters creates a comfortable, atmospheric light for both private and public spaces. An opalescent diffuser softens the glow for gentle distribution, while the bell-shaped shade — cut and pressed from a flat 3 mm aluminium sheet — emits light in a precise, high-definition pattern. Solid and durable, it suits everything from children's rooms to executive offices.

Danish designer Louise Campbell created LC Shutters for Louis Poulsen in 2012, following her earlier Collage pendant for the same house. Campbell, born in Copenhagen in 1970 to a Danish father and English mother, is known for an experimental approach that balances playfulness with industrial discipline — and LC Shutters shows it clearly. The shade begins as a single flat sheet of aluminium, laser-cut with a pattern of small shutters, then pressed into its bell form. The result is a quietly technical object: closed and sculptural by day, and after dark a source of soft light that scatters delicate dots across walls and ceiling through its open shutters.

Hang LC Shutters over a dining table or kitchen island at around 60–70 cm above the surface, where the opal diffuser gives flattering, glare-free light for faces and food alike.
