The PH Artichoke Glass, launched in 2008, translates Poul Henningsen's 1958 icon into handmade, sandblasted glass. Its lineage runs back to his PH Septima of 1927–31, whose layered glass shades were discontinued in 1940 due to material shortages; the Artichoke revived the idea for the Langelinie Pavilion restaurant. Here the 72 precisely positioned leaves — 12 rows of six — diffuse light softly through the glass in a “picket fence” arrangement, so the fixture glows milky and luminous rather than sculptural-dark, lit or unlit.
