VL Ring Crown Floor Lamp

Introduced in 2025, the VL Ring Crown Floor and Table lamps honour the original VL Ring Crown series, with over 80 years of history. The family — pendants, chandeliers and wall lamps — was created by Danish architect Vilhelm Lauritzen for Radiohuset, the Danish Broadcasting Corporation's headquarters inaugurated just after WWII in 1945. True to the original, the floor lamp pairs polished brass with glossy, three-layer, mouth-blown opal-white glass shades. Lauritzen also designed the VL 38, VL Studio and VL 45 lamps for Radiohuset.

Vilhelm Lauritzen (1894–1984) was one of the founding figures of Danish functionalism, and Radiohuset in Copenhagen remains a defining work of the movement. In the tradition of total design, his studio shaped the building down to its furniture and fittings, developing the lighting together with Louis Poulsen — the Danish manufacturer that also brought the designs of Poul Henningsen and Arne Jacobsen to life. Extending the Ring Crown family to a floor lamp eight decades later is a quiet continuation of that story: the same vocabulary of polished brass and mouth-blown opal glass, now standing freely in the room. The three-layer glass softens the bulb into an even, glare-free glow, while the brass, left to age naturally, gains a personal patina year by year.
