VL Ring Crown Table Lamp

Introduced in 2025, the VL Ring Crown Floor and Table lamps honour the original VL Ring Crown series, with over 80 years of history. The family — pendants, chandeliers and wall lamps — was created by Danish architect Vilhelm Lauritzen for Radiohuset, the Danish Broadcasting Corporation's headquarters inaugurated just after WWII in 1945. True to the original, the table lamp pairs polished brass with glossy, three-layer, mouth-blown opal-white glass shades. Lauritzen also designed the VL 38, VL Studio and VL 45 lamps for Radiohuset.

Vilhelm Lauritzen (1894–1984) belongs to the first generation of Danish functionalists, and Radiohuset in Copenhagen is widely regarded as one of the movement’s defining buildings. His studio worked in the spirit of total design — shaping furniture, fittings and lighting as one coherent whole — and developed the building’s lamps in collaboration with Louis Poulsen, the Danish manufacturer that also realised the icons of Poul Henningsen and Arne Jacobsen. The new table lamp translates that heritage to a smaller, more intimate scale: the same polished brass and three-layer, mouth-blown opal glass, now sized for a desk, sideboard or windowsill. The layered glass evens the light into a calm, glare-free glow, and because the brass is left to age naturally, the lamp gradually takes on a patina that makes each piece quietly unique.

A table lamp is often the most flexible light in a small home — it moves wherever the evening takes you, from the bedside to the living-room shelf.
