This placemat is made of acrylic coated fabric printed in Helsinki with the small scale Pieni Unikko pattern, and the protective finish lets it be wiped clean with a damp cloth. Unikko was created by Maija Isola in 1964, at a time when floral designs were almost absent from Marimekko collections. Fascinated by flowers, she went on to design a whole range of novel floral prints, and Unikko has symbolised creativity ever since.
Made in Estonia from 100% organic cotton with an acrylic coating, it measures 31 x 42 cm. It is available in Sand / White / Hay / Emerald, White / Red, White / Beige / Dark Blue and White / Dark Gray / Beige. Iron through a damp press cloth and reshape it to dry.
Keep a set on the table for daily meals, and combine them with napkins and trays from the Marimekko collection.
