Designed by Poul Henningsen between 1925 and 1926, the PH three-shade system has evolved into a family of over 30 lights, including the PH 3/2 Wall. PH's goal was to create glare-free, directional lighting that softened shadows and illuminated spaces with precision, using the scientific principles of the logarithmic spiral for even light distribution. The PH 3/2 Wall features a 30 cm top shade paired with lower shades from the 2/2 model, a hybrid design created to allow pendant lights to hang at lower heights. With its versatile selection of sizes, colors, and materials—including glass for diffuse light—the PH system revolutionized lighting by offering a wide variety of combinations for both residential and commercial spaces.
