The Marimekko Unikko Kitchen Towel is printed in Helsinki with the Unikko poppy and has a hanging loop on the long edge, ready for a hook or an oven rail. Unikko dates from 1964, when Marimekko collections held almost no florals: Maija Isola was drawn to the theme and designed a complete range of new floral prints, and the poppy now stands for creativity.
The towel is woven in Estonia from a blend of 57% organic cotton and 43% linen, which dries glasses cleanly, and measures 47 x 70 cm. It comes in Plum / Cranberry / Off-White / Rose and Sand / White / Hay / Emerald, and carries an Oeko-Tex certificate. Wash before use at the temperature given and leave out the fabric conditioner; shrinkage is up to 6%.
