This cotton fabric carries Pieni Unikko, the small-scale version of the poppy that Maija and Kristina Isola developed from the 1964 original. Unikko was born at a time when hardly any floral designs appeared in Marimekko's collections, and it has come to stand for creativity. The pattern is printed in Helsinki.
The cloth is 100% organic cotton with a pattern repeat of 88 cm, and it is sold by the metre, so you can order the exact length your project needs. Colourways run from White / Blueberry / Cool Blue and Plum / Cranberry / Off-White to Coral / White / Pastel Green and Sand / White / Hay / Emerald. Wash with like colours at the stated temperature; shrinkage is a maximum of 4%.
