Hammershøi grooves on grinders, cutlery and thermos
Hans-Christian Bauer carried the Hammershøi grooves beyond the plate, onto oak and ceramic grinders, steel cutlery, porcelain thermos mugs, a thermos jug, a bread basket and a kitchen roll holder. Spare knobs, a glass insert and a gasket keep grinders and jug in use for longer.

Adjustable ceramic grinders
A CrushGrind ceramic mechanism lets you set the grind from fine to coarse.
Spare parts
Replacement knobs, a glass insert and a gasket extend the life of each piece.
Grooves for grip
The fluted knobs and mugs give fingers something to hold.
One kitchen language
Grinders, cutlery and thermos match the Hammershøi tableware.

Grooves for the hand
The Hammershøi series is named after Svend Hammershøi, who joined Kähler in 1893 and was known for strong contours and distinct grooves. On the grinders and thermos mugs those grooves become a grip for the hand.

Oak and ceramic
The grinders combine a body of FSC-certified oiled oak with a fluted ceramic knob and a CrushGrind ceramic mechanism, adjustable for a fine or coarse grind. The kitchen roll holder pairs ceramic with oiled oak in the same way.

Made to be kept
Spare grinder knobs are sold in each colour, marked with the grinder numbers they fit. The thermos jug takes a replacement lead-free glass insert and a silicone gasket, so a worn part does not mean a new jug.
Materialer
Oiled oak
FSC-certified oak; wipe clean and re-oil now and then to keep it from drying out.
Ceramic mechanism
Ceramic does not rust; adjust it for fine or coarse grinding.
Circulen Renew
The bread basket is made of a biobased plastic.
