The Linjaus ankle socks are knitted from a melange cotton blend and feature the Unikko pattern. Maija Isola created Unikko in 1964, at a time when Marimekko's collections included hardly any florals. Her abstract flower has since become an icon of print design and a symbol of joy and creativity.
The blend is 80% organic cotton, 18% polyamide and 2% elastane, and the socks are made in Turkey. Sizes 35-38, 39-42 and 43-46. Colour: Grey / Light Grey.
A soft, subtle print for everyday wear, from our Marimekko collection.

Marimekko Kioski: Unikko goes streetwear, since 2019
Marimekko introduced Kioski in August 2019 as gender-neutral streetwear, made to bring the Unikko flower to a new, urban crowd. Today it covers pyjamas, bags, scarves, beanies, socks, mittens, hair clips and key chains, mixing Unikko with Basso, Tasaraita and newer prints.

The poppy, worn
Unikko on bags, socks, scarves and clips for everyday wear.
Made for everyone
Kioski began as gender-neutral streetwear.
Thoughtful materials throughout
Organic cotton, certified merino and mohair, recycled wool and leather offcuts.
Small, giftable pieces
Key chains and hair clips carry the flower at pocket size.

Unikko for a new crowd
Marimekko created Kioski to introduce its best-known print, Unikko, to younger city dwellers. The line pairs the brand's most famous patterns with unisex street clothes and carries its values of creative courage.

More prints in the mix
Basso, a 1975 print by Maija Isola, covers pyjamas. Annika Rimala's Tasaraita stripe, made for Marimekko's first cotton jersey collection, meets a Unikko patch on beanies and socks. Antti Kekki's Lossi and Lotta Maija's Tuulahdus join them.

What it is made of
Beanies are knitted in Italy from wool, merino or mohair blends. Socks come from Portugal and Turkey in organic cotton blends. The Unikko Slim belt is Scandinavian leather from Marimekko's own production offcuts.

Designer and brand
Maija Isola
1927–2001
Maija Isola drew Unikko in 1964, defying Armi Ratia's dislike of floral prints, and Basso followed in 1975. She designed for Printex and Marimekko from 1949 and created more than 500 prints. Kioski also draws on later Marimekko designers such as Antti Kekki and Lotta Maija.
Using it at home
How do I wash the beanies and scarves?

Is Kioski unisex?
Yes. Marimekko launched Kioski as a gender-neutral streetwear line.
What sock sizes are there?
Most styles come in 35–38, 39–42 and 43–46. Some styles use other size steps, so check the size list of each pair.
How does the Unikko Slim belt fasten?
