This heavyweight cotton carries Unikko, the poppy that Maija and Kristina Isola's 1964 pattern made into Marimekko's emblem of creativity. It was drawn at a time when the design house's collections held almost no florals, and it has since become the most recognisable print in Finnish design.
The cloth is 100% cotton in a heavier weight, printed in Finland, with a pattern repeat of 98 cm, and it is sold by the metre. Colourways include White / Red, White / Orange / Dark Blue, White / Black and Natural White / Pink / Chestnut / Green. Wash with like colours at the stated temperature; shrinkage is a maximum of 4%.
Use it for curtains, cushions or a stretched panel on the wall, alongside ready-made Unikko pieces in the Marimekko collection.
