The Marimekko Kaika is the small pouch in the range, carrying the Mini Unikko print, with a zipper closure and a lined interior. Unikko was created by Maija Isola in 1964, when floral prints were almost absent from Marimekko collections. The founder, Armi Ratia, held that real flowers could never be caught faithfully in print, so Isola drew the poppy as an abstraction rather than a likeness, and it now stands for joy and creativity.
It is made in China from 100% recycled polyester with a polyester lining, and comes in Warm Green / Light Blue / Pale Rose. The cloth carries an Oeko-Tex certificate.
Use it for daily essentials inside a larger bag, and pair it with the roomier bags in the Marimekko collection.
