The Marimekko Puutarhurin Parhaat Placemat is cut from acrylic coated cotton, so a damp cloth is all it takes to wipe the surface clean. Each mat is sewn from the full width of the fabric, which makes every one slightly different. Inspired by the joys of allotment gardening, Maija Louekari's playful Puutarhurin parhaat, the gardener's best harvest, belongs to the same family of line drawings as Siirtolapuutarha and Räsymatto.
The cloth is a cotton blend with a quarter organic and a quarter recycled fibre, made in Estonia, measuring 31 x 42 cm in White, Black and Orange, and the material is Oeko-Tex certified. Follow the washing temperature given, reshape to dry and press with a damp cloth.
