The Marimekko Unikko Blanket is woven from organic cotton as a jacquard knit, finished with short fringes on all sides, and the colours of the pattern are reversed on the second face. Jacquard woven pieces may vary slightly in size. Maija Isola drew Unikko in 1964, when Marimekko's collections were still dominated by abstract prints, shaping it as an abstraction of a flower rather than a likeness of one, and the poppy has stood for creativity ever since.
Made of 100% cotton in Portugal, the blanket measures 150 x 220 cm and comes in Off-White, Charcoal and Beige. Reshape it to dry, and expect shrinkage of up to 6%.
Fold it over a bed or sofa with pieces from the Marimekko collection.
