EB 27 WL Buquet Wall Lamp

Buquet's 1927 design extends to a wall-mounted version, the EB 27 WL. TECNOLUMEN uses silver or nickel plating while preserving the rotatable joints for flexible light, saving tabletop space without sacrificing the lamp's functional artistry. Every piece is consecutively numbered.

The lamp behind this wall version is a quiet icon of late-1920s Paris: on 9 February 1927, the French craftsman Édouard-Wilfrid Buquet patented a system of articulated arms and counterweights that lets a task lamp balance itself in any position, without screws or clamps. The design was prized by the architects and creative studios of the era, and it is kept in production today by TECNOLUMEN of Bremen — the German manufacturer respected for its faithful re-editions of early modernist classics — which preserves Buquet's geometry while discreetly modernising the electrical components. The consecutive numbering on every piece is a guarantee of provenance rather than a flourish.

The wall-mounted WL is arguably the most space-savvy member of the EB 27 family — and a clever answer for small homes where every centimetre of desk and bedside surface counts. Mounted beside the bed it replaces the bedside lamp entirely, its rotatable joints swinging the light over the page and away again; above a narrow desk or console it delivers focused light without stealing the worktop. Because the polished arm is as handsome at rest as in use, it doubles as wall sculpture in compact rooms. Pair it with a warm dimmed ceiling light and the lamp handles every close-range task after dark.
