Clizia features an intricate arrangement of shapes that capture natural beauty — like a cloud or treetop, it filters light in a gentle play of reflections and shadows. Thanks to a practical magnetic system, installation is effortless, and its soft, airy design transforms any room into a luminous landscape.
Clizia was designed by Adriano Rachele for Slamp, the Italian lighting house founded in 1994 by Roberto Ziliani and celebrated for replacing glass with innovative techno-polymers. The name comes from Clizia — Clytie in Greek myth — the nymph who, transformed into a flower, forever turns her face toward the sun: an apt patron for a design devoted entirely to the pursuit of light. Each shade is built from dozens of soft modules in Slamp's Opalflex® material, cut and assembled by hand, so no two lamps scatter light in quite the same way — Italian craftsmanship expressed through a thoroughly contemporary material.
As a table lamp, Clizia brings that cloud-like glow down to eye level, where it does its best work in the evening. Set it on a sideboard, console or bedside table and it reads as a softly lit sculpture, filling the surrounding wall with delicate, dappled shadows. In compact apartments — where overhead lighting alone can make a small room feel flat — a sculptural table lamp like this adds the second, lower layer of light that interior designers always recommend, without claiming much surface area. It is equally at home warming up a minimalist bedroom or softening a work corner once the laptop closes; its diffuse glow flatters wood, linen and plaster tones alike.

Clizia: a bouquet of petals joined with no glue
Adriano Rachele designed Clizia for Slamp as a luminous bouquet. Petals of Lentiflex and Cristalflex filter the light like a cloud or a treetop, with soft reflections and shadows. Each lamp is assembled by hand with interlocking joints, no glue or screws. It comes corded or cordless.

Assembled by hand
The petals lock together by hand, with no visible glue or screws.
A magnetic fitting
The shade lifts off its light source for easy cleaning and bulb changes.
Corded or cordless
Use the table lamp at a bedside or desk, the battery lamp on a terrace or balcony.
Ten years and counting
Slamp marked ten years of Clizia in 2023, and it is one of the brand's best sellers.

A bouquet of light
Clizia is an arrangement of shapes drawn from nature, like a cloud or a treetop. Light passes through clear and lenticular petals and breaks into reflections and soft shadows on the surfaces around it.

Locked together by hand
Slamp's artisans join every petal by hand through an interlocking system, with no glue and no screws. A magnetic fitting holds the shade to the light source, so it comes away in one movement.

The cordless Clizia
The battery lamp has the same 27 cm bouquet and needs no socket, so it moves to a terrace, balcony or garden table. Its 1.3 W LED gives 150 lumens at 2700 K, for about 6 hours at full light or up to 60 hours dimmed.
Materials
Lentiflex®
Slamp's lenticular technopolymer; under a microscope its surface is a field of tiny prisms that spread LED light evenly.
Cristalflex®
Clear and bright like crystal, but light, flexible and unbreakable.
Cold foil finish
On some versions a metallic foil is applied cold to Cristalflex for a warm shimmer.
Designer and brand
Adriano Rachele
Born in 1984, Adriano Rachele earned his degree in industrial design in 2007 and came to Slamp in 2008 for an internship. He stayed in the research and development department. He wants each design to feel like a single edition while still being made in series.
Using it at home
Which bulb does the table lamp take?
One 6 W E14 LED filament bulb.
How do I change the bulb?
Lift the shade off its magnetic fitting, change the bulb, then set the shade back in place.
How do I clean it?
Use a dust-catching cloth or a soft cloth lightly dampened with water, or an anti-static spray. Never use acetone, alcohol, ammonia or abrasive cleaners.
Why does mine look slightly different from the photo?
Each lamp is shaped and assembled by hand near Rome, so small differences between pieces are part of the process, not flaws.
How is the shade made?
Petals of Lentiflex and Cristalflex lock together by hand with interlocking joints, with no glue or screws.
