Lighting shapes a room before anything else in it does. This collection gathers every fixture we carry across ceiling, table, floor and wall: Louis Poulsen's glare-controlled Danish classics, Verner Panton's designs for VERPAN, TECNOLUMEN's Bauhaus re-editions from Bremen, SLAMP's moulded technopolymer sculptures from Rome and ferm LIVING's quieter Copenhagen shapes.

The bestsellers span all four categories: the PH 5 Pendant Lamp, Poul Henningsen's three-shade design of 1958; the Panthella 160 Portable Lamp V3, a cordless version of Panton's 1971 dome; and the VL 45 Radiohus Pendant, drawn by Vilhelm Lauritzen for Copenhagen's Radio House.

If you are lighting a whole room, work in layers: a pendant to anchor the table, floor or wall fixtures for the corners, and a table or portable lamp for reading. Opal glass diffuses light most softly; metal shades throw it where you point them.
