A Hammershøi Christmas tál Ø21 cm fehér, dekorral kis tanulmány arról, hogyan tartják egyensúlyban a dán tervezők a formát és a funkciót.

Hammershøi fluting dressed for Christmas by Rikke Jacobsen
Hammershøi Christmas puts Rikke Jacobsen's winter forest decoration on Hans-Christian Bauer's fluted Hammershøi shapes. Plates, bowls and candle holders sit beside snow figures, elves and dated pieces such as mugs, baubles and advent candles that carry the year of their edition.

Painted by hand first
Jacobsen paints every motif in watercolour before it is transferred to porcelain.
Matches the white service
Same Hammershøi shapes and sizes, so it slots into an everyday table.
Dated editions
Mugs, baubles and advent candles marked with their year make a collection over time.
Table to tree
Dinnerware, candle holders, snow figures and hanging ornaments share one look.
A winter forest
Rikke Jacobsen took the series into the snow-covered, enigmatic world of winter forests. Her motifs are botanical and delicate, with Christmas spruce, animals, snow figures and elves set in contrasting compositions on white porcelain.
The yearly pieces
Some pieces carry a year, among them the Christmas mug, the bauble and the advent candle. The 2019 mug was issued as an annual design, with a spruce combining classic decorations and natural details on the fluted shape.
Built on Hammershøi
The decoration sits on Hans-Christian Bauer's Hammershøi shapes, drawn from the grooved pottery Svend Hammershøi made for Kähler from 1893. Plates of 19, 22 and 27 cm match the white service in size.
Anyagok
Glazed porcelain
The decorated plates are dishwasher safe but not microwave safe.
Refined wax
The advent candles are made of fully refined wax; never leave a burning candle unattended.
Metal tins
The storage tins keep cookies and cakes; wipe them clean rather than washing them in the dishwasher.
