This cotton fabric carries Pieni Unikko, the small-scale version of the poppy that Maija and Kristina Isola developed from the 1964 original. Unikko was born at a time when hardly any floral designs appeared in Marimekko's collections, and it has come to stand for creativity. The pattern is printed in Helsinki.
The cloth is 100% organic cotton with a pattern repeat of 88 cm, and it is sold by the metre, so you can order the exact length your project needs. Colourways run from White / Blueberry / Cool Blue and Plum / Cranberry / Off-White to Coral / White / Pastel Green and Sand / White / Hay / Emerald. Wash with like colours at the stated temperature; shrinkage is a maximum of 4%.
Make curtains, cushion covers or a tablecloth, and match them to ready-made pieces in the Marimekko collection.

打破規則的罌粟花
Armi Ratia 認為真實的花朵無法如實地印製出來，因此早期的 Marimekko 幾乎沒有花卉圖案。Isola 仍然畫出了 Unikko，將花朵抽象化，並以奔放的筆觸繪製。
每年超過一百萬公尺
Marimekko 位於赫爾辛基東部 Herttoniemi 的印花工廠，每年印製約一百萬公尺的布料。品牌所有以公尺計售的布料都在那裡印製，Unikko 也不例外。
