The Marimekko Unikko Bedspread is quilted from unbleached organic cotton over a recycled polyester padding, and it is two sided, with the Unikko pattern on both faces. Maija Isola drew Unikko in 1964, when Marimekko's collections were still dominated by abstract prints, shaping it as an abstraction of a flower rather than a likeness of one, and the poppy has stood for creativity ever since.
The main material is 100% cotton with a 100% polyester filling, made in Turkey, and the bedspread measures 160 x 260 cm in Linen and Off-White. Unbleached and recycled fibres give a lively surface where small patches of different colour may appear, so pieces vary. Wash with like colours at the temperature given, with shrinkage of up to 5%.

Unikko，1964年的罌粟花，寢具與衛浴
設計師Maija Isola1927–2001
Maija Isola 於1964年畫下 Unikko，當時 Marimekko 創辦人 Armi Ratia 並不讓花卉圖案進入系列。從那時起，這朵罌粟花便成為創造力的象徵。在這裡，它出現在被套與枕套、有機棉毛巾、浴袍、浴墊與浴簾上。

打破規則的花朵
Isola 繪製 Unikko 時，Marimekko 的系列幾乎全是抽象印花。她以一整系列的花卉圖案作為回應。Unikko 是留存下來的那一款，至今仍在生產。
三種寢具織法
平紋布為200織，採用75%有機棉與25%再生棉，睡起來爽挺涼快。緞紋布為220織有機棉，帶有柔和光澤。50%棉與50%亞麻的混紡則帶來更有紋理的觸感。
在浴室裡
大多數毛巾為葡萄牙製的有機棉毛巾布。印花 Unikko 呈現色彩。Unikko Solid 將圖案凸壓於毛圈中，而輕盈線描版的 Piirto Unikko 則凹壓在厚實的毛巾布上。

Maija Isola 於1949年受 Armi Ratia 聘請，為後來成為 Marimekko 的 Printex 公司設計。在近四十年間，她創作了超過500款印花。她的女兒 Kristina Isola 18歲時加入 Marimekko，1980年至1987年間母女倆共同設計圖案。
