Each bird is cut from fabric and sewn onto the base using the appliqué method. The decorative stitching around it gives the textiles an intricately detailed look that rewards a closer look.
A quilted blanket
The Bird Quilted Blanket measures 110 by 80 cm, a size for a cot, pram or a nap on the sofa. It is quilted organic cotton padded with recycled polyester, and it washes at 30°C on a gentle cycle.
Cushion or cover
The rectangular Bird Quilted Cushion is 60 by 40 cm, with a feather and down insert. The cover can also be bought alone for an insert you already have, and washes at 30°C inside out.

Ferm Living was founded in Copenhagen in 2006 by graphic designer Trine Andersen, who started out because she was missing wallpaper designs for her new house. Bird Quilted was developed in its Copenhagen studio for the children's range, where traditional textile techniques like appliqué and quilting meet organic cotton.
