The PH 4/3 Table Lamp arrived in 1966, among the last designs of Poul Henningsen's life, scaling his 1926 three-shade system up with a 40 cm top shade over 3/3 lower shades in white-lacquered aluminium on a chrome-plated stem. The principle is simple to state and hard to better: each shade sits on a logarithmic spiral with the bulb at the focal point, so light strikes the whole curve at a constant angle and falls downward without ever exposing the source.
This is the large table lamp of the PH range — almost a small floor lamp in presence — sized for generous side tables, sideboards and desks, where its white shade interiors throw comfortable working light while staying easy on the eyes.
