WAD 36 Art Déco Wall Lamp

Created by Rosi Findeisen and Jo Kähne in 1980 and produced by TECNOLUMEN, the WAD 36 is an Art Déco wall light: a vertical opal-glass element with a torch-like silhouette, finished in chrome or polished brass. Its refined glow suits classic interiors with a quietly luxurious touch. Each piece is sequentially numbered and marked for authenticity.

The torch is one of the defining motifs of Art Déco lighting: in the grand hotels, cinemas and ocean liners of the 1920s and 1930s, wall-mounted torchères threw light upward in celebratory vertical lines, turning illumination itself into architecture. The WAD 36 distils that gesture to its essentials — a slender opal-glass flame held by precisely worked metal — without the heavy ornament that often weighed the period down. Designed in 1980, it belongs to TECNOLUMEN's Art Déco line, the Bremen manufacturer best known for its authorised Bauhaus re-editions; the same standards apply here, with every piece sequentially numbered and marked as a guarantee of provenance.
