Released in 2020, CUBELIGHT move MSCL 3 + 4 expands the original with wireless radio control: tilt and rotate the control cube to change brightness and colour temperature (2700–6500 K). Eighteen glass cubes allow endless configurations, each crafted in Germany and uniquely numbered.

The original CUBELIGHT of 2012 translated the Bauhaus love of elementary geometry into a stackable lamp; with the move version, Mathias Schifferdecker and TECNOLUMEN added a quietly radical idea — making one of the cubes the control. There is no switch, dial or app: you tilt the control cube to dim the light and rotate it to glide the colour temperature between a warm 2700 K evening glow and a crisp 6500 K daylight tone. The interaction feels less like operating a lamp and more like playing with a building block, which is precisely the point. TECNOLUMEN, the Bremen manufacturer famed for its licensed Bauhaus re-editions such as the Wagenfeld WG 24, produces the lamp in Germany and numbers each example consecutively, continuing the workshop tradition that runs through its entire catalogue.

The adjustable colour temperature makes the move version unusually versatile for a sculptural lamp: cool and bright, it works as a desk companion for daytime work; warm and dimmed, it becomes pure evening atmosphere on a sideboard or bedside table. That dual nature is a gift in smaller homes, where one lamp often has to play several roles across the day — a theme we explore in our guide to designer lighting for small apartments. See the whole TECNOLUMEN collection for more numbered German classics, or compare our other table lamps.

Light source: built-in LED, 6.8 W. IP20, indoor.
